Thimmappana Betta is all about twin rocks standing firmly on the top of an unexplored hill, is what I can brief in a nut shell. It is difficult to trek till twin rock but you can witness the early morning breathtaking view of the twin rock by a short trek/ride till the top of the hill right opposite to it

 

       

 These rocks are beautifully placed in the lap of mother nature in Ramnagar district (Karnataka ) , at a distance of 60-70 kms from Bangalore City . Best season to visit this place is form October-February as the rocks will be hot and slippery during summer and rainy respectively.

                                                                                                                                                                      There is a well maintained beautiful temple constructed at the basement of the hill where you can park your vehicles and visit the temple after trekking.

This place is less known hence less crowded. You can go for an early morning travel to breath in fresh air, enjoy greenery and photography to start a weekend peacefully. All that you get here is good view and excellent breeze so do carry food & water and please make sure not to litter this place.

Directions: Bengaluru – Bidadi – Ramanagara - Jalamangala

At the Ramanagara town signal take the right turn, a little ahead take the left at the Y junction. After 10kms on the way on the right side find the beautiful rock before Jalamanagala village.

Thollayiram Kandi is a natural ware house of forest resources.  This mysterious forest lies 2okm away from Kalpetta. From Chundel, take the Mepady- Chooralmal- Soochipara route. Once you reach the Kallaadi Makham, you will see a small bridge. Once you cross the bridge, turn right and ride through the narrow uphill road. As you move along, the tar road ends and the concrete path begins. The roads are difficult to use for vehicles other than bikes or four wheelers. The path passes through a dense beautiful forest. On the way, you can see lovely cascades and creeks, lots of birds and animals. Soon you will reach a huge mount from top of which you can a spectacular view of the landscape that includes a beautiful stream flowing down the hills and a stunning waterfall. The isolated valley, the green fields, hills and mountains all provide an astounding scenery for the visitors. Visitors to Wayanad must find time to spend a day at this exotic place

This serene strip of earth in the hidden reaches of Wayanad can be accessed by taking the route that goes to Soochipara Waterfalls from Meppadi, near Kalpetta. Beyond the first bridge after Kalladi Makham, your journey to this lesser known destination starts. The scenic drive through the trail to reach Thollayiram is every bit as intriguing and refreshing as it sounds and adventurous as well.

Amble up the trail studded by leaf litters and flanked by forest land on one side and coffee or cardamom plantation on the other side to reach this pristine stretch. Grand views are offered at each bend as you enter this incredible landscape.

Thollayiram is the name of the estate located inside the forest land. Years ago, this pristine stretch of land was part of the 900 acres of land owned by one Parel Pappan which later got fragmented into innumerable land masses. However, the name stuck and the place is still called Thollayiram.

As you reach the top, the chimes of a waterfall start pulsating through the woods revealing a wild beauty- a strikingly lovely stream set against a highly dramatic backdrop of lush rolling hills.

Travel 23 km from Wayanad town to Meppadi via Meenangadi-Panamaram road. 13 km off Meppadi is Thollayiram which can be reached via Kalladi Makham.
